I recently purchased a portable GPS from Best Buy - a Magellan Roadmate 2036. It's a general purpose unit that comes with good reviews. It's not motorcycle specific, so it's not waterproof (more on that later). The first step was installing a 12 volt power source. Here are some photos - pretty straightforward. Run the wires back to the bettery for positive with an inline 30amp fuse, and the negative to a frame bolt. The next steps will be posted after I receive my RAM Motorcyle mount!
